A cold front drapped across the West will produce showers, with some mountain snow, primarily in the northern areas. Farther East, moisture drawn up ahead of the strong system may produce locally heavy rain. In the Southeast, heat lingers south of a cold front.
Digimode Automatic Propagation Reporter This started out as a project to automatically gather reception records of digimode activity and then make those records available in near realtime to interested parties — typically the amateur who initiated the communication. The way that it works is that many amateurs will run a client that will monitor received traffic for callsigns the pattern 'de callsign callsign' and, when seen, will report this fact. This is of interest to the amateur who transmitted adn they will be able to see where their signal was received.
One station is set up with DX PacketCluster and is linked to one or more other stations who have installed the software. These nodes when connected are called a cluster. Clusters are connected to other clusters, expanding the network.
Before the Internet and social media, there was amateur radio. Hobbyists flocked to it, communicating with others from across the globe, or just down the street. And then came, well, the Internet and social media — and the whole ham radio craze quieted down a bit.
The FCC has no requirement to identify the station you are speaking with, or to provide signal reports of stations being contacted. There is currently no longer a mandate to submit any logs. Interference to other amateurs is bad radio practice, and should be avoided where possible.
This App is connecting the so called international DX-Cluster database in realtime. The results are analyzed and displayed in an easy to read overview. The content can be filtered by frequency e.
Repeaters: T his is an instruction sheet for you guys who have never heard of a DX cluster in hopes that you may find this a valuable means of ham radio communication. A DX cluster is a packet radio means of giving hams on HF interested in making contacts to stations on the air, the information needed to make that contact. For example, a ham in Europe will make a contact with a cq call in France.
Their results are yet another indication of how FT8 is taking over the HF bands. The purpose of this limited Alpha test was to get a feel for the load and other implications of carrying FT8 spots on the RBN; it has been very revealing. The most striking characteristic of FT8 spots is their sheer quantity.
DXSpotter has a fully adjustable interface, including graphical skins, and satisfies the needs of any user. When connecting to cluster, there is the option of automatic authentication and saving of the password. DXSpotter has the added ability to notify the user of selected DX stations, allowing the user to use the program in the background.
