Down in the Kunene and Omusati regions of Northern Namibia, are the semi-nomadic people of Ovahimba and Ovazimba tribes. It is customary, for them, for the the women to engage in daily activities of milking cows, taking care of the children while the men go hunting, sometimes leaving for long periods of time. Most of their cultures have been upheld despite western influence and agitation.
They are one of the four major ethnic groups of which Africa was made. The other groups are the Negroes, Hemites and Bushmen. As a part of the "great Bantu-speaking migration" in the 16th century, the Herero, the semi-nomadic pastoralists of eastern and central Africa, entered into north-western Namibia and started their new life.
